Ekene Nwaokolo is a corporate commercial lawyer with over 2 decades experience, and currently
the General Counsel and Company Secretary of Silverbird Group, a leading media and
entertainment company in West Africa with holdings in communications (radio and television),
cinema exhibition, film distribution and real estate, with responsibility to oversee the Legal and
Company Secretariat, Information Technology, Expansion and New Businesses, of the Silverbird
Group companies’.
Previously, he was the Legal Adviser and Company Secretary of Ecobank Capital, the trade name
for the Investment Banking, Asset Management, Securities and Registrars business of Ecobank
Transnational Incorporated (ETI) and Oceanic Capital Limited.
He is a member of the following local and international professional bodies: Nigerian Bar
Association, International Bar Association, Nigerian Institute of Management (Chartered),
Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria, Registered Capital Market
Operator (Compliance Officer) with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Registered
Professional with the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria.
